Hornetsecurity and api jointly launch Cloud Security for Office 365 in reseller channels

Hornetsecurity and api jointly launch Cloud Security for Office 365 in reseller channels

Hornetsecurity forms their next important partnership with api Computerhandels GmbH as the third distributor to further increase the penetration of the German IT retail market. The cooperation has strategic advantages for both sides: While Hornetsecurity is once again significantly increasing its presence in the German channel and at the same time gaining access to other European markets, api is expanding its portfolio of value-added services to include important security elements.

In the process of searching for an additional distributor, Hornetsecurity was convinced by api’s many years of expertise and the high range of distribution. Founded in 1994, the company with headquarters in Baesweiler and various national and international subsidiaries has been operating very successfully in the IT industry for over 25 years and provides services to more than 14,000 specialized and wholesale customers and system houses.

Api convinces as a full-range supplier with a highly automated logistical system, and at the same time focuses on the expansion of its value added services. An important aspect here is the establishment of a comprehensive IT security portfolio. With its cloud solutions for secure email communication, Hornetsecurity provides essential components in this area. In particular, the Security and Compliance Suite for the Microsoft Office 365 Cloud, 365 Total Protection and the 365 Total Encryption service for the encryption of email content in Office 365 play a key role.

The partnership is of strategic importance for api and Hornetsecurity”, emphasizes Daniel Blank, COO of Hornetsecurity. “In the next three years, up to 70% of the local appliance for email security, email archiving and encryption will disappear. Analysts like Gartner sometimes present an even clearer scenario: While large companies and upper midsize businesses have long been relying on cloud products and have been outsourcing their mailboxes to global service providers such as Microsoft for a year now, the big shift in Germany is just around the corner”.

api offers access to large parts of the German specialized retail market and thus completes our market access. We have now successfully completed our transformation to a 100% distribution business“, Daniel Blank continues. “Since January, partners can only complete their participation in the Hornetsecurity Channel Program by selecting an authorized distribution as their supply channel.”

Andreas Printz, Purchasing Manager at api, confirms: “System houses face the great challenge of fully protecting the IT infrastructure of organizations. Cloud solutions such as Office 365 are now increasingly being used. It is also the responsibility of the specialist trade partners to understand the data protection and security requirements of their customers and to deliver appropriate added value. With the services of Hornetsecurity, we can provide them with the necessary tools to secure email communication and thus close one of the main entry points for cyber attacks. At api, we always strive to be correctly positioned for current and future challenges in order to meet the diverse requirements of our customers quickly and reliably”.

High five! Hornetsecurity receives “Technology Fast 50 Award” for the fifth time

Hanover (12.11.2019) – According to the latest study by the consulting company, Deloitte, the technology sector is not only certified to have new growing potential but is also becoming more than ever the engine of innovation and “business enabler” of the German economy. The key to this success are the sector’s entrepreneurs, whose innovative products respond courageously to economic challenges and complex customer requirements. The 50 fastest growing German tech companies have now been honored by Deloitte with the Technology Fast 50 Award. Hornetsecurity was delighted to receive the award for the fifth time this year.

“Thanks to our expertise as consultants, we at Deloitte know that hardly any business today can do without technology,” explains Dr. Andreas Gentner, Partner and Head of Technology, Media & Telecommunications EMEA at Deloitte. “Innovative technology makes us fit for the future across all industries, provides attractive offers to customers and thus strengthens Germany as a economic location”.

Deloitte emphasizes that the great challenge for companies is to maintain the balance between growth and expansion, while adapting organizational structures. The award goes to companies that manage to overcome these challenges. The ranking is based on the percentage of sales growth over the last four financial years.

During this period, Hornetsecurity achieved an increase of 154.84% and therefore received the Technology Fast 50 Award 2019. Oliver Dehning, CFO of Hornetsecurity, is thrilled about the fifth award and proudly received it on November 7th at the Museum of Hamburg History in Hamburg:

“Being awarded with the Technology Fast 50 Award proves to us that we are still on the right track. I would like to express my sincere thanks to Deloitte and our employees, without whom this achievement would not have been possible. We will continue to do our best to guarantee the best IT security for our customers”.

As part of its expansion strategy, Hornetsecurity recently extended the benefits of it’s product 365 Total Protection with additional essential features in the form of its latest service: Microsoft 365 Email Encryption. The new product is an easy-to-use and secure solution for protecting data stored in the Office 365 cloud from spying and theft without affecting usability.

it-sa 2019: Hornetsecurity creates new perspectives for email security

Hanover (15.10.2019) – You could certainly see, hear, feel and understand Hornetsecurity from the 8th through 10th of October at it-sa 2019. In keeping with the slogan “Ich will Cloud” (I want Cloud), the Email Cloud Security Provider offered an extraordinary program in its 200 m² booth, and  the company showcased its new Email Security Services in an exciting presentation.

Hornetsecurity and its eight partners welcomed the exhibition audience every hour with a spectacular stage show that included live music and acrobatic performances. The increasing cyber-crime targeting Microsoft Office 365 was the topic of discussion, with Hornetsecurity focusing on the risks of unencrypted data storage in the Office 365 cloud. The email security specialist also provided the solution to the existing problem – in the form of its latest security service: 365 Total Encryption. Immediately after each show, Hornetsecurity presented the mechanisms and functions of the service during a live demonstration. 365 Total Encryption encrypts all content of all emails stored in the Microsoft Office 365 Cloud, providing the best possible protection against the growing threat of espionage, data theft and other hacker attack methods.

In addition to interesting and informative conversations about current topics and trends in the IT security industry at the Hornetsecurity booth, an interactive live quiz invited visitors to take part and challenge their IT know-how. The winners received prizes such as Marshall headphones, keyfinders and Hornetsecurity laptop bags.

At Knowledge Forum 11 of it-sa, Hornetsecurity’s Partner Account Manager Tassilo Totzeck talked about why email in particular represents such a large attack vector in the area of cybercrime, how exactly a cyber-attack takes place and why Microsoft Office 365 is increasingly becoming the focus of hackers.

After the daily program, the email security expert hosted parties on two evenings: “Me and The Heat” and DJ Abuze provided some great beats and the Hornet crew tapped fresh free beer for the guests.

After the last live show on Thursday afternoon, Daniel Hofmann and Daniel Blank, CEOs of Hornetsecurity, once again thanked all partners, distributors, employees and artists for three sensational days at the event in Nuremberg. The success of the fair for the Hornetsecurity partners has been confirmed.  With more than 500 interesting conversations and new contacts, it is now time for the follow-up work.

it-sa once again lived up to its reputation as Europe’s largest IT security trade fair: This year, around 15,600 attendees visited the four exhibition halls, where around 750 companies presented their latest IT security solutions. Hornetsecurity is proud to be part of the growing IT security industry and to make a major contribution to increasing security in email communications.

Office 365 Email and Data Theft Protection – Hornetsecurity Releases 365 Total Encryption

Office 365 Email and Data Theft Protection – Hornetsecurity Releases 365 Total Encryption

Hanover (01.10.2019) – Users of Microsoft Office 365 are increasingly being targeted by cybercriminals. Over the past year alone, the number of attacks on users’ email accounts has almost quadrupled. For protection against data theft, unauthorized access or spying, cloud security provider Hornetsecurity is expanding its extensive email Security & Compliance Suite, 365 Total Protection with the release of a new security service, 365 Total Encryption. This new level of security for Office 365 users will encrypt the content of all emails stored in the Microsoft Office 365 cloud.

Cybercriminals target the Microsoft Cloud

According to Microsoft’s latest Security Intelligence Report the number of phishing attacks on Office 365 accounts has increased by 250% over the course of a year. 365 Total Encryption encrypts all incoming and stored emails while effectively protecting sensitive data from
cyberattackers – even if they have taken over the account.

Decryption is only possible by the mailbox owner, who has a private key. Encryption with 365 Total Encryption protects corporate email communications from espionage, unauthorized mailbox access or theft of important corporate information. Even Microsoft doesn’t have access to the content of emails encrypted by 365 Total Encryption.

“It is unavoidable that companies must move to the cloud in the short to medium term. If they don’t, they will be left behind in the future”, says Daniel Hofmann, CEO of Hornetsecurity. “Nevertheless, companies do not have to waive the protection of their data from unauthorized access. With 365 Total Encryption, we offer just that: an easy-to-use and secure solution to protect data stored in Office 365 from spying and theft—without limiting usability.”

365 Total Encryption adds essential features to the capabilities of 365 Total Protection while also offering the best possible market-wide protection against the growing threats of spying, data theft and business email compromises. The service works on all common email clients and end devices as well as on the native email clients of iOS and Android—without the installation of software.

Hornetsecurity will be presenting the comprehensive mechanisms and functionalities of 365 Total Encryption for the first time at it-sa, Europe’s largest IT security trade fair in Nuremberg from October 8th through October 10th, 2019.

¡Olé! Hornetsecurity acquires Spanish market leader Spamina

¡Olé! Hornetsecurity acquires Spanish market leader Spamina

On its way to become Europe’s largest cloud security provider: German cloud security expert Hornetsecurity announces the acquisition of Spanish email security company Spamina. The market leader in the German-speaking area is thus significantly expanding its market position. This strategic decision not only qualifies Hornetsecurity as the market leader in Spain, but also opens up access to the South American IT security market. As a part of the Hornetsecurity Group, nearly 200 specialists will guarantee secure email communication for more than 40,000 companies worldwide.
“The acquisition of Spamina strengthens our strategic position in the international market,” says Daniel Blank, CEO of Hornetsecurity. The acquisition of the Spanish company, Hornetsecurity gains further international locations, in addition to Madrid and Barcelona, especially in Central and South America. Following the expansion of its business in the USA and Australia, the opening up of the Benelux region through the takeover of Avira’s spam filter division and the recently concluded partnership with Swisscom, Hornetsecurity is thus consistently continuing its international expansion. “The added value for our employees, customers and business partners is obvious. In the future, all stakeholders will benefit from efficient technology, excellent support and bundled development resources,” Blank adds.
A further purpose of the takeover is to strengthen activities in the South American market. Many of the local companies in South America are looking for cloud security services that meet their linguistic and technical needs.
“This is where we start: With our bundled know-how and innovative services, we offer high-quality cloud security solutions including cultural and communicative competences”, says Daniel Hofmann, CEO of Hornetsecurity.
Blank once again emphasizes the importance of this strategic milestone for the company’s future growth: “Spain is one of the fastest-growing economic powers in Europe and one of South America’s strongest trading partners. In addition, the annual growth in gross domestic product clearly shows that countries such as Argentina, Peru and Colombia are among the emerging service markets. This is where we see a significant, strong market potential.”
The international fast-growing cloud security expert expects an even faster market expansion due to the focus on common target markets and worldwide distribution of its product portfolio. Founded in Madrid in 2005, Spamina guarantees the security of its customers in the three main areas of “Email Firewall”, “Threat Prevention” and “Secure Collaboration”. Numerous well-known companies such as ARAG SE, Europcar and Azimut Benetti Group rely on these security solutions in their daily business. “The company and our products complement each other in every aspect and we are sure that with our innovative services and associated, comprehensive know-how, the digital future of our customers will be even more secure”, says Hornetsecurity’s CEO Oliver Dehning.
