Hornetsecurity expands APAC and EMEA growth through new distribution agreements covering 10+ countries

  • Signings cover significant expansion in Philippines, Saudi Arabia, Poland, Czech Republic, Gulf States, Emirates, Middle East, North Africa, Cyprus and Turkey
  • Expansion provides improved backup and recovery services increasing the use of 365 Total Protection suite and 365 Total Backup from Hornetsecurity
  • Email cloud security and compliance added to mix in APAC with the expansion of Datastor Australia’s portfolio

Hanover, Germany (22 November, 2022) – Global email security and backup provider, Hornetsecurity, has today announced a major push into several different regions across the world, with the signing of new distributors and partnerships. This further expands Hornetsecurity’s established presence in Europe, the US and LATAM.

In the Philippines and Saudi Arabia, the signing of distributors WSI and S2 will see Hornetsecurity’s capabilities support even more businesses in limiting cybersecurity issues. EMT have been appointed as distributors of Hornetsecurity solutions in the Middle East. In Eastern Europe, software distributors ED&R Polska in Poland and  PBCom in the Czech Republic have been selected due to their significant Microsoft presence. In Australia, Datastor Australia has expanded its portfolio from Altaro backup solutions for Microsoft 365 to the full range of Hornetsecurity cyber solutions, adding email cloud security and compliance into the mix.

These agreements, covering more than 10 countries, will take Hornetsecurity’s flagship 365 Total Protection suite and 365 Total Backup far deeper into their respective Microsoft communities.

Colin Wright, VP, ROW, Hornetsecurity, commented: “In signing these agreements, we have made a significant expansion commitment into APAC and Eastern Europe. Microsoft retains significant dominance in the region, so it makes sense that our complementary next-gen email security, backup and compliance solutions should grow alongside as the number one third-party provider. To date, we’ve focused largely on Western Europe and the Americas, but now we have a dedicated team to roll out Hornetsecurity into APAC and we are finding initial demand really exciting.”

Hazel Escanlar, General Manager WSI, commented: “We’re one of the leading distributors in the Philippines, and we’ve taken the decision to expand our cybersecurity portfolio with Hornetsecurity because of its alternate stance on becoming the number one end-to-end supplier of cybersecurity and set-and-forget backups for Microsoft for SMBs, and all controlled from one easy-to-use control panel for those offering managed services. With Hornetsecurity, it’s all about convenience and flexibility to give MSPs peace of mind while reducing their demands on time.”

From a partner perspective, 365 Total Backup enables managed service providers (MSPs) and value-added resellers (VARs) to provide backup and recovery services for Microsoft 365 mailboxes, Teams, OneDrive, and SharePoint. They can easily take backups and manage them through a multi-tenant, cloud-based control panel. 365 Total Protection Enterprise Backup combines this functionality with state-of-the-art email security that protects against spam, viruses, phishing and ransomware; as well as providing Advanced Threat Protection (ATP), email signatures and disclaimers, automated email continuity and legally compliant email archiving.

Daniel Hofmann, CEO, Hornetsecurity, explained: “Through these new appointments, we can offer a great market opportunity to more partners globally. They can now bring their customers to Microsoft 365 in a secure, safe and compliant mode, through our next-gen solutions. We also provide them with the unique benefit of being able to back up the data shared via User Chats in Microsoft Teams as well as Group Channel Conversations, something other vendors are not able to do. This strong market position gives our partners a compelling advantage.”

Hornetsecurity announces new partnership with Infinigate UK

Hornetsecurity announces new partnership with Infinigate UK

Hornetsecurity, the leading German email cloud security provider in Europe has signed an agreement with Infinigate UK, the CRN UK Security Distributor of the Year 2019.

As one of the fastest growing German tech companies, Hornetsecurity makes with this new partnership another important step to become market leader for MSPs in UK and Ireland. The ambitious plan is to achieve this within the next 12 months.

Hornetsecurity Services complement Infinigate’s extensive cyber security product portfolio and MSP offering (Managed Services Provider) in all the key areas of email security, including spam and virus filters, legally compliant archiving and encryption with best in class technologies. This includes advanced threat protection for users of Microsoft 365 as well as other email systems.

Daniel Blank, COO of Hornetsecurity, said that Infinigate fits perfectly as a new distributor due to its award-winning expertise and strong focus on cybersecurity solutions: “Since our inception we work in an indirect sales model with trusted and capable VAR´s (Value Added Resellers) and MSP´s in our core markets. Our focus on the UK market was initiated with the acquisition of our former exclusive country partner Everycloud in December 2019. Within the last six months we built an entire UK team including partner managers as well as an UK support department.

With these resources and a clear commitment, we carefully looked for a suitable partner who has the same understanding and ideas to execute our 100 percent channel focused strategy and to attract new partners with our solution. We have two new MSP modules on our roadmap for 2020. Infinigate’s relationships and experience with more than 2,000 security and network resellers is so beneficial to us. It helps us to entirely understand the desires of the UK MSP´s and what they miss in competitors’ solutions. Our goal – to become the leading email cloud security provider for MSP´s in UK within one year – is closer with this new partnership. We look forward to a fruitful cooperation and to meet Infinigate partners in person at the first Hornetsecurity Partner dialogue in UK which is planned for the first quarter of 2021.

Infinigate on the other hand further expands its MSD (Managed Services Distributor) offering with Hornetsecurity’s products.
We’re really excited to partner with Hornetsecurity as we continue to develop our vendor portfolio and invest in our MSP offering.“ Said Justin Griffiths, Managing Director for Infinigate UK. “Hornet’s email security and threat protection offerings fit perfectly onto our portfolio and will also be made available on the Infinigate MSP platform. We were really impressed by Hornetsecurity’s roadmap and their vision aligns closely with ours. Infinigate already works with Hornetsecurity in Europe and we are excited to replicate that success in the UK & Ireland.

Well prepared for 2020: Hornetsecurity reports yearly revenue growth of 68 % for 2019

Well prepared for 2020: Hornetsecurity reports yearly revenue growth of 68 % for 2019

New guarantor of success: The 365 Total Protection service to protect Microsoft O365 accounts

While the German economy as a whole was only able to announce a growth rate of 0.6 % for 2019 and is now being hit hard by the coronavirus COVID19 pandemic, Hornetsecurity can report positive news: The European market leader for email cloud security services achieved a growth in annual recurring revenues by 68 % within the past year. Hornetsecurity has once again exceeded expectations as one of the fastest-growing German technology companies, and is thus well equipped to deal with the current coronavirus crisis situation.

One of the reasons for this success is the increasing demand for reliable protection mechanisms for the Microsoft Office 365 Cloud, to which more and more companies are relocating their email communication. Demand for the service will continue to grow, especially in times when a large number of employees are forced to work from home. However, this makes the Microsoft Office 365 Cloud a popular target for cyber-criminals, which is why companies need additional protection for their data. The Security and Compliance Suite, 365 Total Protection, meets these security requirements and is becoming increasingly popular. The service is already responsible for just under 10% of Hornetsecurity GmbH’s contract volume – and the trend is increasing rapidly.

“The rapidly growing demand for additional security solutions for Microsoft Office 365 is not unfounded. In 2019 alone, the number of attacks on users’ email accounts quadrupled. Our goal is to provide comprehensive protection for companies with our sophisticated services and to become the leading provider of Microsoft Office 365 email security,” explains Daniel Hofmann, CEO of Hornetsecurity. “We expect that in the next three years, up to 70 % of locally installed solutions for email security, email archiving and encryption will be replaced by cloud solutions. We are therefore in the middle of a decisive phase of upheaval, which offers great potential for us.”

Portrait Daniel Hofmann

To ensure that Hornetsecurity benefits from these developments, the strategic alignment for 2020 is based on several pillars: “On the one hand, we will strive for further growth in our existing markets by optimizing our processes, and by building on this, target entirely new markets. Thanks in particular to the acquisition of the British distribution partner EveryCloud, we have new resources available for the English-speaking world since the beginning of the year,” explains Daniel Hofmann.

“A further focus will be on expanding cooperation with Tier2 providers to penetrate the IT market on a large scale. For example, we were recently able to win a leading German distributor, api, as a sales partner. Of course we also have a whole range of new products and features in the pipeline. But the most important thing at the moment is that we are taking significant measures to counteract current developments. For example, we are addressing new target groups with extensive campaigns and offers, which will enable us to establish long-term business relationships and emerge from this global crisis stronger than before,” adds Daniel Blank, COO of Hornetsecurity.

About the Hornetsecurity Group

Hornetsecurity now protects the healthcare sector free of charge with their email security services

Hornetsecurity now protects the healthcare sector free of charge with their email security services

Patients on ventilators, hospitals at their limits and doctors at the end of their strength – these images make us aware again and again of the immense importance of the healthcare sector for all of us in the face of the coronavirus COVID19 crisis. Smooth operations are more essential than ever – all disruptive factors must be avoided. For example, an infection of the internal IT network of hospitals through malicious emails could be fatal in the current situation.

Hornetsecurity would therefore like to help: From now on all email security services for the healthcare sector are free of charge until the end of the year.

Cyber-criminals exploit the pressure on hospitals

Unfortunately, there are more and more cyber-criminals taking advantage of the current Coronavirus COVID19 crisis situation. They are targeting medical facilities for their own personal profit. Especially at the moment, the risk of an unconsidered click on a possibly defective link or attachment is high, because the entire attention of the employees is focused on the fight against the coronavirus. For example, the Brno University Hospital in the Czech Republic was hit by a cyber attack on March 14. The hospital is one of the leading test centres in the Czech Republic and due to the attack had to take the entire IT system offline, cancel treatments and transfer patients to other clinics.

Email is the main gateway for cyber threats

In most cases, malicious programs enter the IT system via email. Not only can damaged be caused there, but medical equipment can also be manipulated. Infiltrated ransomware encrypts sensitive data and releases it only against a ransom. Passwords are tapped via phishing mails, making mass theft of patient data possible. In addition, email communication can fail due to technical faults: Not only data leaks and blackmailing cause serious financial damage. Cyber attacks also block medical operations, and communications that are important for coordination could fail. A collapse of patient care would be a possible consequence. Comprehensive IT security services that detect malicious emails at an early stage are essential, especially now.

Secure and continuous email communication free of charge until the end of the year

Hornetsecurity’s Email Security and Productivity Services provide an effective defense against targeted attacks such as ransomware, spam and malware attacks and against the failure of email communication. For users of Microsoft Office 365, the 365 Total Protection Suite provides comprehensive security management for Microsoft Office cloud services.

To prevent cybercriminals from taking advantage of the current situation, Hornetsecury’s initiative is aimed at the entire healthcare sector and includes hospitals, nursing homes and companies or organizations that manufacture medical devices, vaccines or protective clothing, or support their production as suppliers. The services can be booked immediately and used free of charge until December 12, 2020.
