Furthermore, the company is one of the most important and largest providers in the security and cloud market throughout the country. For its Security Service Provider business, Swisscom is now implementing Premium Cloud Security Services from Hornetsecurity starting in first quarter of 2019.
In the context of internationalization and globalization of more and more companies, they are faced with the decision to make company data available in the cloud from any location. With its comprehensive Managed Security Services, the Security Operations Center in Switzerland (staffed by specialists 24/7) and professional threat detection & response services, Swisscom protects customer systems in real time.
Due to the worldwide network, new threats are emerging, which is why security solutions from the cloud and companies with high expertise in the area of cybercrime are particularly in demand. With many years of experience, Hornetsecurity has already established itself as a pioneer in several parts of the European cloud security market. The partnership with Swisscom is in line with the international growth-oriented strategy of the cloud security company from Hanover. “We were looking for a provider that could replace the various and highly customized solutions we have seen so far and that could reliably meet our customers’ high expectations in terms of scalability, security and convenience. Hornetsecurity convinced with the wide range of features of its Email Security Services, the convenient multi-client interface and high flexibility”, says Tim Rückforth, Product Manager Web & Mail Security at Swisscom.

“Technology Fast 50 Award 2018” – Hornetsecurity honoured for the fourth time

Hanover (13.11.2018) – The IT sector is one of the strongest growing and fastest expanding industries in Germany. The steps in the development of digital technologies are getting increasingly larger and in order to survive in this tough competition, specialized companies have to meet high demands, such as innovative ideas, strong know-how and special solution-oriented skills. Based on its many years of experience, the internationally operating consulting agency Deloitte knows about the efforts behind the success of fast-growing companies in this environment and has been honoring the 50 fastest growing technology companies in Germany every year since 2002.
“Numerous rapidly expanding companies from Germany have positioned themselves in future-oriented fields of technology in recent years. This is accomplished by entrepreneurs who have managed to consistently pursue their visions, with a willingness to take risks and an entrepreneurial spirit.“, says Dr. Andreas Gentner, Partner and Head of Technology, Media & Telecommunications EMEA at Deloitte.
“With the Fast 50 Award, we want to honor outstanding entrepreneurial achievements for Germany as a tech location.” The ranking is based on the percentage sales growth of the last four financial years. Hornetsecurity increased its growth by 117.42% during this period and was awarded with the Deloitte Technology Fast 50 Award 2018 last week.
By now, the cloud security expert received this special recognition for the fourth time. “The award for once again being one of the 50 fastest-growing IT companies makes us extremely happy and is yet another clear sign for us that we are on the right track. It’s the proof for the hard work of the last years and we are proud of the success of our company. We will continue to focus on innovative solutions and high-quality products in the future.“, says Oliver Dehning, CEO of Hornetsecurity, who proudly received the award at “The New Yorker” in Cologne.
With regard to its ongoing growth strategy and in addition to its extensive product range, Hornetsecurity also relies on its latest product: 365 Total Protection is the first comprehensive Security & Compliance Suite designed specifically for Microsoft Office 365. As part of 21 business and security features, the cloud solution offers a range of innovative functionalities that complements the Microsoft cloud service.

Hornetsecurity launches first comprehensive Security & Compliance Suite for Microsoft Office 365

Hannover (02.10.18) – With “365 Total Protection”, the cloud security expert Hornetsecurity launches an industry-wide unique Security & Compliance Suite, which was especially developed for Microsoft Office 365.
When it comes to protecting corporate email communications, Gartner Research predicts that 95% of IT executives will choose cloud solutions for future decisions. The predominant on-premise appliances will almost disappear in the next three years. Microsoft is a major driver of this development and with Office 365 it offers its customers a collaboration solution from the cloud. Extended features such as MS Teams or Skype are an integral component of the Microsoft Suite and e-mail functionalities are also covered by the cloud solution.
In the context of cloud transformation, customers have high expectations because they want to maintain their flexibility and require a comprehensive range of functions that meet contractual and legal requirements. This does not concern the e-mail service as such – rather, solutions should be covered around e-mail communication, such as encryption, security gateway, automated signatures, archiving and advanced threat protection. 365 Total Protection is optimally adjusted to these needs and offers a comprehensive package that combines all features in one service.
“System houses and IT managers face new challenges with the increasing distribution of O365. So far, important business applications, such as the central provision of compliant disclaimers and consistent signatures, but also requirements such as e-mail encryption, have been implemented locally“, says Daniel Blank, Managing Director of Hornetsecurity.
“Since the mail servers will now be provided from the cloud as part of O365, service providers and IT managers need new concepts to comply with their security and compliance requirements. In order to secure and complement a cloud service such as Office 365 in the best possible way, such functions and security solutions will also have to be moved to the cloud. This is exactly why Hornetsecurity developed 365 Total Protection.“
365 Total Protection is the Security & Compliance Suite from the Cloud, for the Cloud. With a wide range of features, the new product was especially developed for Microsoft O365 and can be integrated seamlessly. Users benefit from a particularly uncomplicated onboarding: Within three clicks, Office merges with 365 Total Protection.
In addition, there are many companies that are looking for a hybrid solution, because they want to transfer individual departments to Office 365 or maintain a coexistent operation. With 365 Total Protection Hornetsecurity supports multi-step migration.
Hornetsecurity’s new product offers within the 21 business and security features a wide range of functionalities that extend the Microsoft service. For example, the Company Disclaimer in conjunction with User-based Individual Signatures – a central control over company-wide signatures and disclaimers that automatically complements outgoing messages with the legally required information of a company, which also enables individual signatures and graphics to be sent in groups.
365 Total Protection takes away companies’ concerns about O365 privacy and compliance policies and is the first product ever to help secure this path. On the 9th of October this year, Hornetsecurity will present all services and features that come with 365 Total Protection to the public for the first time, at the it-sa exhibition in Nuremberg.

On the first evening, Tuesday 09.10.18, the exhibition booth will be turned into a true party zone, starting from 6.30 p.m. Thanks to the stage and live band, it almost resembles a rock concert. Not to be missed is the popular Hornetsecurity beer wagon, which already made big headlines at the HAJ Marathon this year. Managing Director Daniel Hofmann announced that a total of more than 5,000 litres of free beer will flow on the trade fair.
Hornetsecurity’s main goal is to show their character. “Our business partners and customers greatly appreciate the fact that there are still ‘real people’ behind our innovative solutions – our employees who put their heart and soul into it,” says Daniel Hofmann.

Hornetsecurity earns prestigious InfoSec “Cutting Edge Award” from Cyber Defense Magazine

Hornetsecurity earns prestigious InfoSec “Cutting Edge Award” from Cyber Defense Magazine

San Francisco, April 16, 2018 – Cyber Defense Magazine has awarded Hornetsecurity with a 2018 InfoSec “Cutting Edge” award in the category of Advanced Persistent Threat.

The award will be accepted by CEOs Oliver Dehning, Daniel Hofmann and Daniel Blank at the annual RSA Conference tonight in San Francisco.

“We’re honored and humbled to receive this recognition for the first time.” Dehning said. “With the constant and evolving cybersecurity threats to companies around the world, finding ‘cutting edge’ solutions is no longer a luxury. It’s a requirement for any company that aims to provide true value for its clients.”

The InfoSec Awards are the culmination of Cyber Defense Magazine’s annual review of the hottest, most innovative, best, market leading, next-generation and cutting-edge InfoSec (information security) companies. The winners were evaluated from nearly 3,000 companies worldwide.

“With Cybercrime continuing to gain momentum, surpassing global drug crimes last year and totaling more than $600 billion in theft and damages, we are proud to honor Hornetsecurity as an award-winning innovator offering a new approach to defeat these criminals,” said Pierlugi Paganini, Editor-in-Chief, Cyber Defense Magazine.

Hornetsecurity’s award coincides with a move into the United States, where it recently opened a base of operations in the rapidly growing tech community of Pittsburgh. Revenue has skyrocketed since the introduction of the company’s Advanced Threat Protection software in 2016. The expansion also aligns with the company’s continued focus on innovative solutions that are defined as much by customer service as they are by the software itself.

“At Hornetsecurity, we believe a paradigm shift is necessary in the IT community.” Dehning said. “We need more encryption instead of open data, we must assume overall responsibility for the security of the systems and solutions we offer and we must fight the imbalance between attackers and defenders by using more cloud-based security solutions.”
