FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Why are we transitioning to the Hornetsecurity platform?
Since the acquisition of Vade in 2024, Hornetsecurity has continued to invest in building a stronger, more comprehensive cybersecurity platform. By bringing together innovative technologies, products, and expertise, we have created a powerful ecosystem designed to support the growth and success of our partners.
Over the past two years, we have seen strong adoption of the Hornetsecurity platform across our partner community. Partners using Hornetsecurity as a unified platform have achieved significant growth by expanding their offerings beyond email security and leveraging additional services from the Hornetsecurity portfolio.
This transition reflects our long-term vision of providing a single, integrated platform that simplifies operations, delivers a consistent user experience, and creates new business opportunities. It also gives partners and customers access to a broader range of cybersecurity capabilities, including Advanced Threat Protection, Secure Links, Continuity Service, Email Encryption, and many other solutions managed from a centralized platform.
What is the timeline for the transition?
An automated transition is planned for October and will ensure that customers retain the same level of service and equivalent protection capabilities.
However, we encourage partners to migrate their customers before then and take advantage of our dedicated transition offers. By moving to the Hornetsecurity platform earlier, customers can immediately benefit from additional security services and advanced features, while gaining access to a broader cybersecurity portfolio managed through a single platform.
Our teams are available throughout the transition process to support partners and help them make the most of the opportunities offered by the Hornetsecurity platform.
What do I need to prepare for the transition?
We recommend reviewing the available transition resources, familiarizing yourself with the Hornetsecurity platform, and identifying the customers you plan to transition.
If you are not yet a Hornetsecurity partner, we encourage you to explore our Partner Program. It provides access to training, certifications, resources, and tools designed to help you successfully manage and support customers on the Hornetsecurity platform. You can learn more and register on the Partner Registration Page.
To support the transition, we have developed dedicated tools and resources, including a transition support tool that helps you track the progress of customer migrations and identify any actions that may be required throughout the process.
For detailed guidance, please consult our technical documentation or contact our team at [email protected].
Is the service level equivalent?
Yes. The objective of the transition is to maintain an equivalent or better service level for customers, while giving them access to a more complete platform.
We recommend transferring customers to the Spam & Malware Protection + Advanced Threat Protection offering in order to benefit from additional protection capabilities.
Our partners will support customers throughout a proactive transition to the unified Hornetsecurity platform. In addition, a dedicated transition offer is available, enabling customers to benefit from a broader range of security services and advanced functionality.
What about my current contract?
Your current contract will continue to be managed by your usual contacts.
For any commercial, contractual, or administrative questions, your Partner Account Manager and dedicated representatives remain your main points of contact. They can help clarify the transition steps and the available options for your customers.
Will there be any service interruption?
No. The transition is designed to maintain continuity of the email flow.
To support you in the best possible way, our teams are available to review your requests on a case-by-case basis if specific assistance is needed.
Will my current settings be preserved?
Yes. Existing settings and configurations can be transferred from Vade Cloud to the Hornetsecurity Control Panel to ensure a smooth transition and maintain a high level of service continuity.
Our teams have the tools and expertise required to support the migration of configurations and help minimize any disruption throughout the transition process.
In addition, a self-service configuration migration tool for partners will be made available, enabling them to manage configuration transfers independently. We will share further details as soon as it becomes available.
Where will my data be stored?
Customer data is hosted in European data centers in accordance with high standards of security, compliance, and data protection.
As part of the transition, customer email data continues to be hosted in France, while the Hornetsecurity platform infrastructure is operated from secure European data centers. This approach ensures compliance with European regulatory requirements while maintaining the reliability and performance of our services.
Do I need to complete any specific training?
No prior training is required to use Hornetsecurity solutions. However, we offer introductory webinars as well as a wide range of resources to help you get started.
As part of our Partner Program, you also have access to certification paths, online training courses, and various enablement tools designed to support your success.
To learn more, please contact your Partner Account Manager (PAM) or reach out to our team at [email protected].
What will change after the transition?
The only change will be the access to the Control Panel.
After the transition, you will be able to access logs, quarantine, customer settings, domains, users, and the features included in your selected offering from the Control Panel.
For a limited period after the transition, access to the Vade Cloud platform will remain available so that existing configurations can still be consulted and emails can be released from quarantine if needed.
Conclusion
The transition to the Hornetsecurity platform has been designed to be simple, progressive, and without service interruption.
We recommend identifying the customers concerned now, prioritizing those who require specific support, and preparing your teams with the resources available on the Partner Portal.
Throughout this process, our teams remain by your side to support you, answer your questions, and help you provide your customers with a unified, more complete cybersecurity platform that is ready to meet tomorrow’s challenges.
